Fortissimo comes with all the features you’ve come to expect from a media player. It lets you create and manage playlists, it provides support for various types of audio formats, it integrates with the right click context menu, it can scan folders and automatically find music. On top of all these features, Fortissimo comes with a cool trick that might come in very handy: it can look up artists on Wikipedia.

32- and 64-bit version of Windows, any edition from Windows XP up to Windows 10, are supported. A simple setup wizard will help you install Fortissimo on a PC that runs a supported Windows edition. It must be mentioned here that the setup wizard asks you to choose between installing a Demo Version and a Registered Version. If you thought that the Fortissimo media player is free, this is where I tell you that it isn’t.

By default, Fortissimo uses the Black skin. Three other skins are available: Brush, Dark and Office. Watch the video that accompanies this article to find out how easy it is to switch from one skin to another. You just have to access the Options menu and select the skin you want to activate.

If you want to play a certain song, you must go to Options -> Add Files. By doing this you can add individual files to Fortissimo. But what you really should be doing is to create a playlist. The first time you hit the Open Playlist button, Fortissimo will offer to scan your folders for audio files and automatically compile a playlist file. You can create as many playlists as you want and you can easily edit all your playlists.

As mentioned above, Fortissimo is not free. A registration reminder will show up every time you close Fortissimo and invite you to "please consider registering this software."

Fortissimo may not be the best looking media player out there, but it does have a few things going on in its favor: it can automatically find music and generate playlists, it can look up artists on Wikipedia, and it puts a customizable title bar on your desktop.

Pros

Fortissimo can be easily installed on a PC that runs a 32- or 64-bit version of Windows. The interface provides support for skins. Create as many playlists as you want, easily edit your playlists. Fortissimo can look up artist information on Wikipedia.

Cons
